Age of Menopause Gifts
A time of significant transformation.
Menopause holds two distinct factors. It is like being born, except we are birthing ourselves as elder women. And it is a life journey, an age, a life reckoning.
PERIMENOPAUSE. Peri-menopause is the labor process, the prelimary journey prior to the birthing date.
We go through the labor of perimenopause to get to that one date in a woman’s life.
MENOPAUSE. There is only one day of menopause. We can celebrate for a week or a month or a year or a lifetime, but there is only one real borthdate of menopause. Yes, that day is actually a birthdate of sorts, being the day when our menstrual cycle has ceased for one full year. Which commences the next part of our journey, the discovery of the elder woman.
POSTMENOPAUSE. This is the journey after the birthdate of menopause. A journey to our possibilities when all focus can be on our transformation. Post-menopause is the fine-tuning of our spiritual and emotional gifts, and the sexual and physical discoveries.
Postmenopause is our time of significant transformation.
Menopause is the date leading to the journey that brings gifts in heaping harvest baskets. Physical gifts. Sexual gifts. Spiritual gifts. Emotional gifts. Even financial gifts. Even moreso in postmenopause.
Physical and health gifts. Once perimenopause is passed or handled – or both, as some need desperately, then the physical relief of postmenopause is incredible, so they say. No more cramps, no pms-ing, no bloating, no breast tenderness. Energy…. The energy once dedicated to others is now more focused on the woman bearing the energy. And she may still give that energy away, no fault with that at all. But physically, the choice has opened for a more dedicated energy spurt that may just focus on the woman who has the energy for once.
Sexual gifts. After reaching true postmenopause which is after the cessation of the menstrual cycle for one full year, there is the sexual freedom that comes with no longer fearing pregnancy. Of course, I am not going to toss my caution to the wind and trust that theory wholeheartedly until perhaps another year has passed. I do not want to prove the possibility pregnancy after true menopause. But the highlights are well worth the gratitude.

Peri-menopause women are on what can be a laborious journey of transformation to birth their elder self as a woman. The transformation prior to menopause need not be a monotonous physical suffrage. Seek assistance with nutrition, progesterone balance, serotonin support, and more.
Spiritual gifts. Post-menopause is the beginning of new and different spiritual maturity. Gifts that perhaps never had the time or the strength or focus from us, now they present themselves. Dreams, intuitive realities, creative gifts, healing gifts, any presentation that uplifts our lives and the lives of others is a spiritual gift. Menopause and postmenopausal gifts are peace, radiance, a spiritual tapping into the flow of life we never may have experienced until menopause.
Emotional gifts. There is the wisdom of the elders. There is a transitional level of acceptance when a woman reaches what has always been considered the far-off years of middle age. We can say, ‘Well, here I am, now what am I going to do with it.’ Emotionally, women in menopause can be granted something akin to more patience, an understanding of what really is more important. This is a gift much needed in a time of dealing with our career transitions and a world in financial jeopardy, in dealing with aging parents and coping with our nearly grown children, or supporting someone we love who is coping with their children, and requiring a great deal of… management, acceptance and patience.
Financial gifts. There may be times for financial transformation, rebranding after menopause, or career success, or there may be a new outlook and freedom concerning career hassles and priorities, seeming defeats and disappointments. Perimenopause Challenges

Peri-menopausal women do not need to wade through to the new attitude and more comfortable physical experience that enhances postmenopause. Seek assistance for your greatest challenges. Usually natural progesterone is the easiest place to begin. Click to read more.
Many women in perimenopause feel powerless. They become miserable and out of control while experiencing physical symptoms that estrogen imbalance punctuates… dealing with resurfacing childhood issues… and emotional baggage from life as an adult all the way from relationships to career issues.
If you are still in perimenopause…. or if you are still struggling…. seek nutritional support, hormone balance through natural progesterone cream, and emotional and spiritual support with flower essences, 5-HTP or SAME-e. Be certain you are getting the sleep needed to produce melatonin and serotonin. And read books to support your journey, many are listed below.
Menopause is worth the journey. But it is just a date on a calendar. The age of menopause is the transformation.
Menopause – Monthly Cycles Cease
Two Greek words form menopause. Menos or month. Pausis or cease. And as surely as you were born and went through puberty and became a woman… at the age of menopause ovarian function declines, the menstruation cycle ceases, and reproductive hormones that once hit the top of the charts each month recede. Sometimes those hormones need some balancing, but for the most part, menopause is that simple and quite liberating. Life becomes simpler.
Now we can ask, “What do I really want to do with this part of my life?”
We can ask this because a woman at menopause finds she
- has much less fatigue during energy cycles
- experiences no more really strange food cravings
- their binge urges, if applicable, can actually disappear
- pregnancy is not likely
- perimenopause-induced monthly mood swings are over
- and no more breast tenderness
Summary for the Gifts of Menopause
Once we are at post-menopause, it can be the most radiant time of life, the most passionate years ever.
Take a closer look at real women who are living well during their post-menopausal years.
You will find that although there is evidence of gravity changing their appearance, they have something that makes us look at them more fully, finding an appreciation in a new beauty they exude.
Fading hair, thinning hair, fading skin tones, wrinkles. These can all be handled to the best of our ability, if we so desire. Realizing we are all at a different level of acceptance when the appearance of aging begin for us ends most the controversy the media and beauty market creates. While many experience greater self-doubt, others understand that their greatest gifts are radiating from within.
The gifts are radiating from a spiritual resource that has cleared the way for our resonance. Define resonance as it pertains to you.
Women of postmenopause experience, anew or for the first ever….
- Self-knowledge
- Self-confidence
- An inner glow
- Radiance
- More passion
Do you really think you are any different?
Menopause and Mystical Powers
Perhaps this will pertain to you. Perhaps not.
Menopause in many indigenous cultures is seen as a powerful time in a woman’s life. They do not need to be a matriarchal society to believe women’s gifts are powerful. Menstruation is associated with mystical powers and strength because of the belief that woman bleeds without falling sick or dying. Women during menopause are even more revered in their ability to retain more power, to be wiser and attain intense spirituality.
One More Gift of Menopause
Menopause actually forces us to really understand what makes us who we are.
Is there something that doesn’t feel like the real you?
See this as a clue to exploring off the beaten path during your journey. Godspeed.
