Hypothyroid Misdiagnosed 30 Years
I am going to begin posts at random to update the thyroid diagnosis and treatments I am finally undergoing after being misdiagnosed for my entire adult life.
Where I am now is beginning recovery. Fortunately, I found a nurse practitioner who knew the hypothyroid tests to run. One who believed me when I said that out of thirty thyroid symptoms, I had twenty-eight, most of those active issues during adult life, many when I was a child.
Where I am now is feeling blessed, tearful – yes, I sat there and cried when I was told my numbers were off the charts – mostly from sheer gratitude.
One day I will hold my hand back to those thyroid specialists and physicians that I went to with this health situation and assist them in them learning what they could have done and what the consequences have been to my health and emotional well-being. Those, who did not admit they did not know exactly how to help me, thereby leaving me with the message I was “fine” and I just needed to expend more energy and eat less.
I tried. I did very well. I also started using natural progesterone cream and had wonderful results. But the obvious hypothyroid issues did not clear and I knew something was wrong.
How does the thyroid and progesterone involve menopause? Basically, age. It comes to a head eventually. That is where menopause comes in, when all the issues become so complex one does not know which pertains to which hormone. If the tests had been run correctly when I was younger, I would have been relieved of the consequences of my body deteriorating so rapidly, especially my heart and circulation.
But ESSA Natural is mostly about beauty care during menopause. So I will tell you upfront, I am here just to relate my experience, strength, hope.
More posts on this subject later.

UPDATE::: After two months on general, alopathic therary(Western medicine) for hypothyroidism, I can tell that I am recovering. The last two days I was able to rake and garden for one half hour a day. That when only one minute left me cry from frustration and exhaustion. We still need to deal with cortisol and DHEA and my thyroid medication will be raised a tremendous amount then switched to a natural resource, but the changes thus far are incredible. I have lost fourteen pounds without changing the food or adding exercise of any kind as I was not able to stand excerise until this week. I can dress myself after a shower. You see, that is how tired I was. It was shower OR dress. If I showered, I just stayed in a robe for a few hours, I was too exhasted to do more. Just trying to show that it can get rough and I am better.
